Social Driver team members recently gathered for Summer Sesh, a series of in-person team-building events and activities held in cities across the United States. Summer Sesh is an annual tradition that celebrates the company’s culture of collaboration and inclusion.

The Summer Sesh events took place in Washington, D.C., Chicago, Kansas City and Bellingham, Washington. As part of these regional events, colleagues also took part in meetups for their functional teams, such as Project Management, Operations, Creative and Web Strategy. Some of the activities included team lunches, happy hours, games like ping pong and skee ball, headshot photo shoots and in-person work sessions.

Social Driver’s internal culture committee, known as BOLT, organizes Summer Sesh and other in-person and virtual events. These programs create a cohesive culture across Social Driver’s team of about 70 people working in five offices and remotely across the country.

“It takes an amazing team to put on events like Summer Sesh,” noted Darnell Lee, People Manager and BOLT committee member. “Between BOLT and our leadership here at SD, we were able to send team members across the US to attend events in Chicago, DC, Kansas City and Bellingham! Our Summer Sesh events are impactful, intentional and inspiring.”

Here's what a few Social Driver team members had to say about Summer Sesh:

“This year's summer event was our biggest in-person event since the start of the pandemic,” said Senior Project Manager Alexander Krapf, who organized the Washington, D.C., event. “We brought team members from all over the country to work and be together, some of whom met their team in person for the first time, which made the event even more special. I can’t thank the BOLT team enough for planning months in advance of this event and for creating such an awesome experience for all of us.”
“I tremendously appreciate BOLT and Social Driver’s leadership for producing the Summer Sesh events–they really embody our value of putting people above everything else,” said Emily Feldmann, Director of Finance, who attended the Washington, D.C., event. “It was an absolute joy to catch up with people I used to see every day in the D.C. office, get more face time with folks I've only gotten to see on occasion and finally meet some others for the first time. I feel so fortunate to work at a company that's dedicated to making these events inclusive and memorable, especially now that I’m working remotely full-time from New Hampshire.”
"Chicago Summer Sesh was great!” said Miles Ramsay, VP of Creative. “Anytime we can get our creative team together in person is always a win. It's especially rewarding to do so in an environment that's so rich in art, history and architecture. My team and I loved it, and I personally can't wait to go on the architectural boat tour again!"

Summer Sesh is just one of the ways that Social Driver fosters an inclusive, welcoming, creative culture across the company. BOLT’s programs and initiatives are designed to enrich the employee experience, making Social Driver a place where people feel inspired and supported to grow their careers. We're looking forward to the next opportunity to celebrate and collaborate together!
