Social Driver hosted an open house during the holidays in its Kansas City, Mo., office for clients and friends that focused on giving back to the community.

Attendees brought clothing to donate to the Northwest Missouri State University Career Closet, which provides professional attire to students for career-related activities. They also brought food items to donate to Harvesters, a regional food bank serving northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas. The Driver Foundation matched each donation with a financial contribution to those organizations.

These organizations not only benefit local community members, but are also close to Social Driver’s co-founders’ hearts.

“Having grown up on a working farm, I didn’t have a professional wardrobe headed into college at Northwest Missouri State University and remember not having a suit for job interviews,” said Social Driver CEO Thomas Sanchez. “Thankfully, the university now has the Career Closet to provide students clothes for job interviews and other professional events, which is a great resource.”

Social Driver Chief Strategy Officer Anthony Shop fondly remembers the times he spent as a child with his grandpa Carl serving meals to the homeless in downtown Kansas City. Now, the downtown area has become a hot spot for businesses and entertainment, yet there are many people still in need. Harvesters helps people feed themselves and their families.

“As Kansas City small-business owners, we take our commitment to the community seriously. We are also honored that we are in a position to give back to our community that gave so much to us growing up,” Shop said.

Social Driver Director of User Experience Orion Kinkaid said he loved the opportunity to spend time with clients and community members while giving back. “It was such a fun time bringing our local clients, partners, friends and family all together to raise donations for the Career Closet and Harvesters. Seeing everyone step up to donate, and to have Social Driver matching those donations with financial contributions, makes me really proud of our company, this city and the local charities that do some really positive things for people.”
